What Causes Green Colored Bowel Movements While Suffering From Gallstones?
I have been diagnosed with gall stones after a recent ultrasound, My primary doctor says I should have my gallbladder removed. I had been complaining about pain on right side and also had bowel movements which have been green in color. Are the green stools due to the stones? Also, would I see a gastro specialist or a surgeon? I assume a gastro specialist would examine me further and ask for all my symptoms. My doctor gave me the name of a surgeon to see. What is your answer to the green stool and the doctor I would see now for this condition? Thank you for any help you can give.c
As per your description, green stools could be due to gallstones which in turn affecting bile secretions. But, there could be other gastrointestinal disease which can cause green stools which needs to be ruled out.
I would advise you to see an Gastroenterologist for proper diagnosis of your condition.
Thanks.
