Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My son is 2 years old and I just changed his diaper and noticed he had a small amount of poop. But it wasn t normal poop. It looked like snot (mucus) and had a light green tent to it. It also had a strange smell, it was putrid but had a sweet smell also. I used to be a Certified Nurses Aid (CNA) and elderly patients would have poop about the same, I can t remember what it was called but I do remember it was a very deadly illness. Is this something I need to worry extremely about or just keep an eye on it and see if it stops? And what is it? Is it C-dif?
Children seem to have irregularities with their stool. Quite clearly you have had no exposure to the pediatric ward during your service as a nurse, that's perfectly fine. Do not worry, your child's stool is just as most children of his age.
During his next doctors consultation, you can bring it up with his doctor for your satisfaction. You can also try changing his supplement food if at all he/she is already feeding on supplements.
Best wishes
