I have been experienced green stools for a few days now and don t know what would cause this. The only thing i have eaten that might change color is pesto sauce but that was several days ago. Also, i just got a refill on generic Lexapro and was wondering if that could also cause green stools Thank you, Lynne Bowman
The commonest causes of gree stools are as follows: Intestinal infection. Green foodstuffs. Green stools is surely a cause of concern. Hence I would advise you the following: First of all send the stool for fecalysis that stool tests for 3 days. Tests of blood. If the intestinal; infection is present then you need a course of a suitable antibiotic active against intestinal infection. Also consult your Doctor for clinical evaluation so that the test reports can be correlated and you get an appropriate prescription based medications. Take plenty of oral fluids. Also watch for other symptoms and take appropriate symptomatic and supportive therapy.
