What Causes Greenish Yellow Stool While Suffering From Diarrhea?
I had diarrhea for about 10 days, I consumed me water which I thought was working due do my stool hardening up slightly. The stool was still a greenish yellow, my stomach was bloated with some discomfort. Today I was feeling great went running the it happened I ran to the bathroom and released some Watery diarrhea that had a sour smell to it, please help.
Noted your history about suffering from greenish yellow diarrhea with foul smell. Diarrhea can be due to viral or bacterial infection. The green color may indicate more towards bacterial infection. I would advise you the following in such a situation: consult your Doctor for clinical evaluation and get the tests of blood and stool to help to find the cause. Take a proper course of an antibiotic and Metronidazole as needed and advised on prescription. Take probiotics. Plenty of oral fluids to avoid dehydration. Electrolyte solution to avoid imbalance.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
