Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my daughter had a bout of vomiting earlier this week, she also had a chest x ray done recently which showed mucus in her chest the doctor said to watch for signs of phuenoma but she seems very healthly except for being more fussy then normal. Today though she had a bowel movement that was a light grayish color could this be related or anything to be concerned about? Thank you.
Stool can be grey or clay-colored if it contains little or no bile. The pale color may signify a condition (biliary obstruction) where the flow of bile to the intestine is obstructed, such as obstruction of the bile duct from a tumor or gallstone in the duct or nearby pancreas.
The change of stool color to grey or clay typically occurs gradually as these medical conditions progress relatively slowly and stool becomes pale over time.
Please get stool examination and ultrasound abdomen done and get treated accordingly. Pneumonia is treated as early as possible.
Consult your physician, he/she will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
