Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am having a clear watery vaginal discharge that gushes out and soaks through my panties. I recently went to the doctor and i am NOT pregnant, no infections or elevated white blood counts, no yeast or bacterial infections, no stds, and a normal pap....so now what could this be?
It is not uncommon to have clear watery vaginal discharge, particularly in the days of the cycle leading up to and including ovulation. The elevated hormones during this time cause the cervix (neck/opening of the uterus) to produce this fluid, which helps the sperm swim up the vagina to facilitate conception.
Women produce varying amounts of this fluid. Some hardly notice it and if they do, it only happens when they are ovulating. Others have several days of this and it is so copious they need to wear pads.
It can happen anytime the periovulatory hormones are high but does not correlate exactly with ovulation (i.e. you can have this and not ovulate). But it is usually most noticeable around mid month of your cycle.
I hope this information was helpful to you.
