What Causes Hair Loss And Weight Gain While On Medication For Bipolar Disorder?

Hi ..I have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder for which I am being given combination of Diva 500 OD twice a day along with olimelt 2.5 (night) and lamiz od 200 (morning) once a day. Recently I am experiencing major hair loss and weakness besides tremors and weight gain. I am a 42 years old female having hight of 5.6 and weight 85Kgs. Please advise for side effects.

Hello. Thanks for asking Healthcare Magic. These can be side effects of diva 500mg which contains Divalproex sodium. There is nothing to worry. These effects can be reversed on withdrawl of drug and deceasing the dosage. I would suggest to consult your doctor if you continue to have side effects.
