Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Hair Loss, Dry Skin On Body And Fatigue While On Fluconazole?
I am a 61 year old male on Fluconazole. I been taking 1200 mg for the last 3 years. Im loosing my hair, body seems like it is drying out and I m tired all the time. What is good to give me energy. Im a diabetic and had Valley Fever. thank you ( am I a good candidate for Testosterone? )
First of all, it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.
Based on the history you have shared, the hair loss can be a side effect of Fluconazole you are taking for years and this need to be stopped or lowered in dosage. Rest I would suggest you get your blood tests done for Thyroid function tests as these symptoms can be due to Hypothyroidism.
Once the cause of hair loss is identified then the testosterone treatment may be advised.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
