What Causes Hair Loss Post Pneumonia?

after a hospital stay because of double pneumonia I began to find a large amount of hair in my brush. My scalp seemed itchy but shows no sign of a problem (except loss of hair). I now wear wigs and am really happy with the look. My question is why did my hair come out and will it grow back? YYYY@YYYY

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Hair fall can occur after long standing illness. The hair will grow back if the hair fall is temporary. I suggest you to consult a dermatologist for clinical assessment to look for cause of hair fall.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
