What Causes Hair Loss While On Prednisone?

i am taking prednisone and experiancing hair loss. i have taperd down to 6 mg a day from 60 mg daily for 6 weeks, 50 mg. daily for 5 weeks, 40 mg for 4 weeks , etc. will my hair loss stop at some point? I am taking the prednisone to prevent further hearing loss due to and autoimmune disorder that left my left ear profoundly deaf and then started to effect my right ear. It has yet to be determined the dosage of prednisone needed to prevent further hearing loss in my right ear.

Telogen effluvium- hair loss caused due to drugs- steroids. these drugs cause the hairs to fall into the resting stage of the hair cycle sooner and cause hair fall within months of intake of the drugs. not to worry. they do grow back. Take a regualr balanced diet containing pulses and sprouts. Also take iron supplements. In case they dont grow back, you can take minoxidil that induces hair growth.
