Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What are possible causes of body hair loss? Hair lost in the armpits, arms and legs. balding as well...but, that had been going on previously. Had an episode of reduced pulse rate with lightheadedness and nausea/vomiting. House has been checked for Radon gas and levels were high. I am thinking thyroid as a result of radioactive exposure. Is that reasonable and are there other possible scenarios.
Hi, As I got through your query, it seems to me that you have generalized body hair loss. There are many reasons for it ; 1) As you said there is increased radioactive radiation levels in your home area it may be the most important one you need to be concerned because high levels are carcinogenic too. 2) Hormonal derangement is another important cause mostly in males. You need to check the Radon level if it is of carcinogenic level. You need to change the residence. For accurate diagnosis and better prognosis you need to explain whole previous history (medical) to your visiting doctor. If your hair loss is patch. It can also be fungal infection for that you will have to take Antifungal medication. I wish, I had answered your query, if in any case you need any help you can come back to us. Regards....
