What Causes Hair Thinning While Taking Cortisone Shots?
Hello: I had a couple of cortisone shots in my foot since November 2014 every month. I stopped getting them during the Summer months around June. However, I noticed my hair was thinning on the top of my head and was concerned if it was the shots. Marilyn
As per your query you have hair thinning while taking Cortisone shots . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query age , androgenic alopecia, alopecia areata and trichotillomania . Cortisone shots are not known to cause any hair thinning or hair loss . In fact they are used for treatment of alopecia aertea. Hair thinning may be due hair disorder or some other underlying disease. I suggest you to consult a Dermatologist who will do a methodical medical check-up and advice accordingly. Doctor may treat it with medicine like finpecia and minoxidil or recommend you hair transplant with HUE technique .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
