What Causes Hallucinations After Gallbladder Surgery?

My husband is 80 years old and after having gallbladder surgery came out with haluciations and his Alzhiemers was off the charts. They put him on quetiapine fumarate 25MG. I keep reading that pateints like my husband are at risk by taking this medication. Is That True?

Hi,

He is 80 and at this age due to age related cognitive deficit symptoms like hallucinations can be observed. His serum electrolytes, blood sugar levels should be monitored. Abnormal serum electrolytes are common cause of perceptual disturbances in elderly.

If nothing is found, then Alzheimer's is most common possible reason for his symptoms. Quetiapine at 25 mg is safe to use and can be used for him too. No need to worry for that.
