Psychiatrist 's  Response
hello there, I can understand you are very much worried for your wife.
After reading your theory, I may say that it is very unlikely to develop hallucinations after ear infection. At present, your wife is going through phase of psychotic episode. She required thorough psychiatric evaluation for the confirmation of the diagnosis. She requires adequate dose of anti psychotics with some sedative medicines for sleep. Moreover if its a plain psychotic episode then medicines like prozac and zoloft will not work and they can worsen her psychosis. So better take a second opinion on this from a psychiatrist. All the best.
