What Causes Hand Tremors And Pain Behind The Head In A Sleep Apnea Patient?
my 54 year old husband has a history of recent onset A-Fib, sleep apnea and hypertension. He is very active, works out daily and eats healthy (mostly). He is receiving medical treatment for the A-Fib- Multaq, HTN- Losartan and wears CPAP every night. He only averages about 3-4 hours of sleep per night. On occasion, he can walk up a flight of stairs or just walk in the mall and has sudden hand tremors and head pain in the back of his head and pressure behind his eyes. He is 6 3 and weighs 260lbs. HIs primary MD and Cardiologist have offered no reason for this low impact issue. He has these same issues when playing basket ball but never after riding exercise bike for 30 minutes. I am a nurse and very much would like ideas of who he should see
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have hand tremors and pain behind the head in a sleep apnea . Well i would suggest you to consult ENT specialist , who may order sleep study and for proper evaluation of report of sleep study ,without any delay because sleep apnea sometimes leads to heart attack . Doctor may recommend CPAP machine to correct the problem. Doctor may also order nasal endoscopy and CT scan to rule out nasal polyp and anatomical abnormality . Also consult neurologist for hand tremor and pain behind head . I would suggest you to :-
- Along with CPAP machine your should do light exercises. - Control your diet and lose some weight. - Start do light exercises like yoga and meditation. - Try on sleep on side .
