What Causes Hard Abdominal Area And Stomach Ache In A 3 Year Old?
My 3 year old son has had what we thought was a 72 hour stomach flu. Now it s night 3 and his stomach is hard and he s in pain. He was running around this afternoon and feeling much better. I think the poor idea to give him the smoothie is the cause of the pain. But the hard stomach has me worried.
I understand your concerns. Hard abdomen in kids could be due to following 1 infections in intestine, stomach or liver 2 abdominal trauma 3 muscle spasms due to exertion or sudden jerk 4 rarely some perforated organ
However I would strongly suspect infections in stomach and intestine because it is most common, causes pain and hardness. You need to urgently visit a paediatric specialist to under go clinical examination and ultrasound scan of abdomen. He may require a course of antibiotics, antispasmodic and antacids. In case of perforations he may require a surgery.
I hope my reply will help you. Please write to us or me for more questions. I wish good health to your son . Kindly rate this reply. Thanks
