What Causes Hard Bump On Forehead After Suffering From Concussion?
Four weeks ago I hit my head in an accident. I got a concussion, a contusion on my forehead, and a couple stitches. Since then almost all swelling and coloration is gone and the area is soft and squishy to the touch except for this small hard bump I have under my stitches and where the impact was taken. Is this a calcium build up, and if it is, is there anything I can to do get rid of it that doesn t involve surgery?

Emergency Medicine Specialist, Dr. David Dupy's Response
Thank you for your question
It is most likely a hematoma, which is a collection of blood
There is not going to be anything to get rid of it except for time
The body will absorb it and will gradually go down over time
It is not anything serious
Hope that helps,
Dr Dupy
