I slipped and fell about 1 month ago and landed really hard on my left knee. It hurt and bruised up. I iced it and bruising went away but now i have a hard bump that wont go away. Sometimes its tender. And if i bump it, it will hurt. Wondering what it is.

Hello,

Hard bump on the knee is commonly due to hematoma, injuries, fractures, cysts, bursitis, etc. You are suggested to give rest to your leg and knee and not to give unnecessary stress and strain. Avoid prolonged standing. Rest, elastic bandage or straps may help. Keep the knee elevated on a pillow when on bed or a stool when seated.

You can take NSAIDS, combiflam, one SOS when pain. However, you are suggested to get it clinically examined by a GP to detect cysts, tumors, fractures or bursitis. You will be treated accordingly. You will also have to get Imaging (X-ray, CT, MRI, etc) tests done to detect the pathology causing you discomfort.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
