What Causes Hard Bump With Greenish Pus Discharge On Labia Majora?
Hello. I had a hard bump on my labia majora. It was sore after I soaked it with warm water. After continually applying warm compressions it got a head and green puss mixed with blood came out when I popped it. It did not have a bad odour. After popping it, the tenderness went away but there is still a hard bump. A couple days later I also found what looked like a zit on my vagina and when popping it green puss came out. Not sure what to do! I still have the hard bump. Should I be concerned?? There is no itching, burning, rash or fever.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi,
The bump on vagina is most likely due to bartholinitis. You can do warm compress. Antibiotic therapy will be required as the lump is persisting. Wound should be irrigated with saline. After that dressing should be done with antibiotic creams like Mupirocin. If the whole lump is not popping out then it should be drained with the help of your GP or gynecologist.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nishad B. N., General & Family Physician
