What Causes Hard Lump Below The Rib Cage Along With Stabbing Pain?
Hi...my boyfriend has been feeling a hard knot that sometimes is hard and noticeable while other times it is not. He feels more of a pressure than pain, but when it does hurt its more of a stabbing type of pain. It is sensitive when pressed on. It is localized up under his rib cage in the RUQ. He is Hispanic and is terrified to see a physician. He is worried it is a tumor or cancer of some sort.

Hard lumb under rib cage in RUQ and tender to touch signifies some infectious aetiology.
Tumour are mostly hard, irregular and painless.
However the possibility of cancerous lump can't be ruled out.
I would like to advise you Ultrasound guided biopsy with histopathology of sample.
