Hello and welcome to HCM,
A hard black lump on
scrotum which started after
hair irritation is suggestive of some skin or skin adnexal lesion.
Lumps in scrotum can be due to lesions of testis or epididymus.
However, the history rules out possibility of lump arising from testis or epididymus.
Irritation of the hair follicle can lead to infection and inflammation of the follicle.
Black color indicates that there is collection of blood in the lesion or a
hematoma formation.
The exact pathogenesis of the lesion cannot be predicted.
A clinical assessment of the lesion is required.
In case there is evidence of infection, appropriate antibiotic will be required.
If there is hematoma formation, hematoma will resolve spontaneously of no other complication is detected.
I suggest you to consult your surgeon for further management.
Thanks and take care
