What Causes Hard Lump On The Top Of Head?

Hi, I had a hardish lump on top of my head I noticed in the shower, squeezed some clear pus and blood out of it about a week ago. After tonight s shower, a scab about 1 cm round came off and under was a white rubbery hollow ball (egg?) I pulled out about 5mm in diameter, now there s a small hole--what could this be?? I m kinda creeped out!!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to folliculitis which is an infection of the hair follicle. I suggest using an antibiotic cream for local application such as Neosporin cream. I also suggest to avoid touching the area,so you can let it heal properly.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
