Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Hard Painful Lump In The Tailbone Along With Lipoma In Hip?
I have a hard immovable lump on my tailbone. I noticed it a couple days ago and it is getting larger and more painful. 3 months ago I was diagnosed with a lemon sized Lipoma deep in my hip right in the middle of my pelvic, pubic and femor bones. My sister was diagnosed with a football sized retro peritoneal liposarcoma last year. What do you think my new tailbone lump could be?
Thank you for the query and welcome to Healthcaremagic!
Lipoma generally is soft and not painful and same for liposarcoma. Considering its location it points more to a pus collection in the tail bone area which is very common. Visit a local physician to confirm this. Simple procedure like drainage of the pus and antibiotic course like penicillin will treat the condition.
Hope this helped with your query.Follow back for future questions. Takecare!
