What Causes Hard Part Of The Heart Shown In Ultrasound While Having Myocarditis?
my 38 year old daughter has been diagnosed with myocarditis. She tells me that on ultrasound part of the heart looked hard ! ? infarct. can this happen with myocarditis? She is in an intensive care unit 200klms from me and of course they won t tell me anything over the phone.
myocarditis means injury to the heart muscle. An infarction is also an injury to the heart muscle. So myocarditis and infarction may both lead to a dysfunctional heart. The good thing with some cases of myocarditis is that the patient has a chance to recover without significant functionality impairment. Thankfully only few patients suffer permanent serious damage.
Of course I cannot talk about your daughter's case without knowing the facts.
I hope you find my comments helpful! You can contact me again, if you'd like any clarification or further information.
Kind Regards!
