Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I have hard swelling on my gums and x ray shows just a spot there i dont know what that spot means my dentist said the x ray is normal So what cause the hard swelling on my upper gums and what was that spot. I am pretty much stressed about that any idea.
As per your query you have symptoms of hard swelling on upper gums which is becoming generalized in nature its because of presence of infection, plaque, calculus and food debris accumulated inside the gum area. Extraction of tooth i.e pulling out of tooth is not a treatment option for your case as tooth pain is generalized in nature.
I would suggest you to visit Periodontist once and get it examine properly. Go for root cleaning, curettage and root planning as you have debris inside gums which are causing detachment of gums from arch. Scaling is not the only option as you don't have superficial rather deep debris accumulation.
Use antimicrobial mouth wash. Brush twice daily with proper brushing technique. Floss daily. Do warm saline or betadine gargles to prevent bacterial build up.
Go for flap re-positioning if its is advised by periodontist.
Use Sensodyne or any anti sensitivity tooth paste to prevent generalized arch pain.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes. Dr. Harry Maheshwari
