What Causes Head Cold, Palpitations, Difficulty Breathing, Stuffy Nose, Sneezing, Sore Throat?

I have had a headcold for 5 days and it feels like I have palpitations or difficulty getting my breath....need to take a deep breath every so often. My cold symptoms are sore throat, sneezing, stuffy nose and deep dry cough. I am concerned with feeling my heart pounding in my chest, but the heart rate is steady and normal (65 beats/minute). I have not had any cold meds today. Yesterday I took antihistamines.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Increased heart rate can occur with infections due to: fever, altered metabolism due to infection, side effect of medication used, altered food and fluid intake

For your symptoms, you may want to consider the use of decongestants along with your antihistamines.
An oral spray, gargle or lozenge would help with the sore throat.

I hope this helps
