General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi,
COPD can be associated with low oxygen saturation in blood. Mostly their lungs will be less efficient to oxygenate blood. You can check his saturation levels are maintaining at least 90 percent. If less than 90 better to give intermittent oxygen. Drooling or froth generation can be due to dysphagia (difficulty in swallowing). Raising the head end with back rest will be helpful for this.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nishad B. N., General & Family Physician
