What Causes Head Spinning And Dizziness When Lying Down?

Hi, this is not the second it has happened to me. When i go lay my head on the pillow at night, my head starts spinning. Also, during the night, when i turn my head, i get dizzy again. This is the case in the morning also. My period is also running late like before, but it s not pregnancy. During the day when i m up nothing is wrong. It s mainly when i go to bed and wake up. Can you please help?

Hello,

there is a number of reasons you might be experiencing this, but based on what you have written, I think your symptoms are caused by Benign Paroxysmal Vertigo, a kind of benign dizziness cause by the dislodging of small calcium crystals in your inner ear.
This condition, per se, is harmless, but can be dangerous if the dizziness also happens when standing and can cause falls.
The treatment consists of simple maneuvers performed in the doctor's office, that involve certain head positioning in order to re-position the small crystals in your inner ear.

All the best
