What Causes Head Spinning, Nausea And Cold Sweat Suddenly?

4:00 am. I m healthy 73 year old male. Turned over from one side to the other and immediately felt the room spinning, mild nausea, cold sweat. It stopped in minutes but when I stood up I started to feel dizzy. No other symptoms. Tried to go back to sleep and as soon as I turned to my side I felt it again. It s not happening now as I lay still. My wife is awake with me.

I had gone through the question and understand your concern.
See , in my opinion , what you are having is Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) . Now there is no need to get scared because of its long name. Its a condition in which , some minute crystals which are present in our present in our inner ear and which are responsible for balancing gets dislodged. It is quite common any many people from various ages experience.
For its treatment , you can take some anti-vertigo drugs like Vertin , Cinnarizine.
