What Causes Headache After A Head Injury?

My husband bumped his head on the metal ductwork in the basement on the top right side, this afternoon about three hours ago and says he s seeing double on the TV when he takes his glasses off. Slight headache; not naseaous, talking fine. Can we wait at home and see if there are other symptoms, or should we see a doctor right away?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

As per my surgical experience, headache is a common sequence of any head injury and takes around 24-48 hours to settle with analgesic and rest.

As you have narrated double vision without glasses which I think is normal physiology when the number for distant vision is more than 3 or so.

Kindly maintain his hydration with plenty of liquids and observe any abnormal symptoms, if showing up then rush to ER otherwise not.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel,
