What Causes Headache After A Head Injury?

my son was hit in the helmet by a pitch and was diagnosed with a concussion. His only symptom was a bad headache and inability to concentrate. this was tree weeks ago and he was symptom free for 6 days. the last couple days he says the headache has come back mildly.. when can he resume playing baseball. he is 16 tears old
