Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I get headaches (in the front of my head) usually a few hours after breakfast. I feel they are food related- maybe blood sugar related. If I am busy and do not get lunch fast enough, the headaches get much worse. I also need to eat protein as any meal or snack that is mostly carbs does not help my headache. This is a daily problem. For breakfast I only eat eggs or sugar free greek yogurt with almonds, if I eat any sugar or carbs I get very shakey and cannot function. If I an not on top of controlling this it ruins my whole day and exhausts me.
All your symptoms are indicating hypoglycemia problem. I think you should get a few tests to rule this out: - fasting blood sugar - oral glucose tolerance test - monitor your blood sugar and blood pressure each time you have a headache or shaky episodes - HBA1C test - abdominal ultrasound - pancreatic enzymes
Depending on the tests results, we can judge about possible managing strategies.
Upper endoscopy is required to rule out stomach hyperacidity issues. For the moment, I can only suggest to: - eat frequently, small portions - do not skip meals - avoid high sugary foods/drinks - take me protein-rich foods or complex carbohydrate foods.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
