Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have head pain constant, both side of my head my ears plugs as well my nose not able to breath, my throw tide inside and hurt when swallow cold drinks. I also have dizziness. Close my eyes and I get dizzy. I know I have chronic sinusitis. The discharge from my nose is yellow and green. Why I can’t see a ENT? what i can do to feel better.
Chronic sinusitis can sometimes be difficult to manage. If the symptoms have suddenly worsened then it may mean an acute infection along with the chronic sinusitis.
Sinusitis can cause dizziness because it can affect the ears which play a big role in balance. Your family doctor can refer you to an ENT for assessment and treatment.
Treatment would generally involve :
(1) nasal sprays such as nasonex or flonase or rhinocort
(2) antihistamine/decongestant combination such as Benadryl D, Allegra D, Claritine C
(3) a course of antibiotics is sometimes needed
(4) medications such as ketotifen or singulair.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
