What Causes Headache And Abdominal Bloating While On Birth Control Pills?

Hi my name is Christina Martin i dont know where to start, i started talking birth control bills in june 17, 2016 and i only was talking them for a week and i stop taking them with in that week i had unprotected sex with my fiance. I came on my period the next day after i had sex, we are trying to have a baby so the next month it was time to come on and i came on 2 weeks early i thought it was because i started talking the birth control pills and they were just leaving my system. But that period was like no other that i ever had in my life the only time that i would bleed was when i want to go pee and then alot of blood would come out and its thick and a dark red. This has been going on for now 8 months. But the crazy thing is that i have been felling like i have to throw up all the time, my head hurts, my lower belly feels funny, back pain sore breast, the smells of some foods drives me crazy, and i promise i feel something moving around in thier, but i went to the doctor the bleed test came back negative and the homes test keep come back negative too. I dont know what else to do i feel like something is going on in my body i just dont know what. I need help please

Hi,

In my opinion, you are suffering from a hormonal imbalance which can be due to the irregular intake of birth control pills (from your description of your first disease.

It seems you are giving break in taking pills when you are planning to have unprotected sex & this creates the imbalance. Please understand the mode of taking pills (I don't know which pill you take.

Still, the birth control pills are to be taken as advised by a doctor after checking you up and daily for directed days of menstrual cycle).

Other causes of such imbalance can be ovarian(cyst /PCOD) or a thyroid problem.

All of your other symptoms are side effects of the imbalanced hormone or hormone in the pill itself.

Further advice can be given only on physical & internal checkup with needful investigations. Please consult a gynaecologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
