What Causes Headache And Bump On Head After Head Injury?

hi, i hit my head very hard yesterday against my hallway wall as i slipped and have a bump on the left side of head which hurts even to move my hair. I have had a slight headache since it happened and feel strange, kind of like light headed and fuzzy. When i hit my head everything went a little blurry and ringing in my ears which stopped after about 30 seconds. Should i be worried?

Hello there and welcome,

Well firstly let me tell you not to worry as the symptoms you've mentioned are nothing but a part of concussion injury that you've experienced .

It seems like you had a mild traumatic head injury. All you need to do now is keep yourself under strict observation for the next 24Hrs.

It can be very painful in the beginning, just apply some icepack / a bag of frozen peas over the bump and it'll get better. Also take Tab. PARACETAMOL 650MG Three times a day after food for 2-3 days.

Just avoid handling any heavy machinery / driving etc. for the next few days, preferably take rest at home . Meanwhile You may feel a bit dizzy , don't worry and just sleep it off. Headache and soreness over the area will take a few days(7-10days depending on the impact of the force) to go.

Only thing is if you experience any warning signs of head injury(sudden severe vomiting/loss of consciousness/ weakness of any of the body parts/fits etc.) then you'll need to check into your nearest ER and get CT-Head done.

Let me know in your next follow-up how you stay and thanks a lot for contacting HCM
