What Causes Headache And Chronic Vomiting After Taking Diuretic?

I had started taking a diuretic from my heart dr -----I had constant headache type pressure and started throwing up after about 8-10 days --went to ER then to hospital for 5 days --- my potassium & sodium levels were. Way low --- finally got potassium back up & sodium level to 124 and went home --last reading was 134 so I m doing well-- feel good BUT have had watery stools ever since coming home -- have been home almost 2 wks -- I was on controlled water intake until wk ago when my dr said just live normal . Will my Bowels get back to normal by themselves?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Headache and vomiting must be due to altered electrolytes from the loss in the urine as potassium and sodium through kidney tubules. Kindly discuss further dosage with your doctor to prevent second such type of episode.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
