What Causes Headache And Constipation In Diabetics?
I am 61 yrs old and have been diagnosed with diabetes 2, 4 weks ago. I have been taking glibenclamida and the other drug metformin three times daily. I suffer from prolonged headaches and cronic constipation (broken stool like rabbit droppings but larger). I am on a vegetarian diet. What could be the cause.
Headache may be due to hypoglycaemia induced by glibenclamide which has to be confirmed by checking blood sugar only. Other symptoms of GI upset may be caused due to metformin. Dose of both medication may need lowering as you are recently diagnosed . It is better if SMBG(Self Monitoring of Blood Glucose) is done at home and presented to your doctor for dose adjustments.
