What Causes Headache And Difficulty Sleeping?

I have been experiencing trouble sleeping. I have very restless nights, and often wake with my heart racing. About 4 mornings a week I wake with a headache as well. My blood pressure is high upon waking (150/73), but adjusts to 126/79 after sitting up. I only have one kidney, and understand high blood pressure is harmful to kidneys. Should I be concerned?

Hello,
Firstly i should tell you that raised blood pressure is dangerous if you have one kidney. However i feel that your high b.p. is due to restlessness.
Regarding your problems of sleeplessness, restlessness and racing heart, i think these might be the symptoms of an anxiety disorder. For this yoi should take tablet rivotril 0.5mg every night. This will relieve your anxiety and improve your sleep.
I also suggest you to visit your physician to rule out any medical causes for anxiety and sleeplessness. I think you should get an ECG done.

Some other tips which you can follow for better sleep are:
Avoid day time naps. Dont take heavy meals, tea, coffee at bed time. Dont do vigorous exercise before going to bed. Have good exposure to day-light. Make a regular schedule of going to bed.
