What Causes Headache And Fatigue After A Head Injury?
Hi I was swimming at South beach in Martha s Vineyard where the waves are known to be very strong. Two waves in a row got me .The first pulled me down and I couldn t get up then the next one slammed my head/neck on its left side to the floor of the ocean. I heard my vertebrae all pop from the base of my skull to the top of my back. It was 6 days ago and I get headaches behind my right eye mostly and im tender where my head hit the ocean floor. I get fatigued more than usual. I feel I may have a concussion from this.
This is head-injury and should be clinically evaluated by your Doctor, preferably by a Neurologist or Neurosurgeon. CT scan or MRI of the brain and Cervical spine if needed. All these will lead to a proper diagnosis and further evaluation and management as per the cause found. Not to be taken lightly as you have already lost 6 days without medical attendance. Till then get bed rest. Avoid any activities that cause strain on the neck, do not be alone as you have symptoms of concussion.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. T Chandrakant, ENT & General Surgeon
