Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Headache And Flu After A Surgery For Venous Reflux?
My wife had surgery for venous reflux about 3 weeks ago, with no problems. Today she woke up with flu-like symptoms...aching, headache, etc. Acetimeniphen does not seem to help. She now has a fever of 101.5. The leg which had the surgery is red and feels warm; her foot is particularly swollen and very red.
History of fever, red and warm leg, swelling of the leg are all suggestive of deep vein thrombosis (DVT). I suggest you consult a surgeon for clinical assessment, relevant investigations and thus management.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Shailja Puri , Pathologist and Microbiologist
