What Causes Headache And Indents Due To Hitting Head?

hi there, two and a half weeks ago i hit my head on the top of the fridge while i was putting my lunch inside of it, thinking i was fine i kept along with my daily routine, twenty minutes later however, i started to get blurred vision, double vision, cold flashes, nausea, dizziness and headaches, i went to the doctor two days later to find out i had concussed myself, now here s the thing i have been getting one to two headaches a day, usually in the same place that i hit my head, and a couple of days ago a found some little indents in my skull around where i had hit my head and where the headaches are located, and to be honest, i m starting to freak out a little bit, i know that symptoms can last between four and six weeks usually but I m a little scared about the indents

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Actually, postconcussive headaches or syndrome (PCS) can last much longer than that depending upon the severity of the blow to the head but I wouldn't "freak out" since the physician should be able to guide you with proper analgesic coverage for a temporary amount of time. Any "indents" you may be feeling are literally skin deep defects and are not related to any defect in the skull table itself...therefore, I wouldn't worry about this and simply follow the instructions of your physician. Such headaches can sustain for a number of months but well over 90% of PCS headaches fully resolve with time.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
