What Causes Headache And Nausea After Getting Hit In Head?
Hello,
I took a blow to the side of my head about 1week ago (near the temple) during a sporting outing.
I am a flight attendant and worked last night, had a major headache and nausea. Is it possible I may have sustained a light concussion?
Hi there, I am Dr. Deepak, I work in Emergency Department, where I see many patient with head injury and headache. You told you had sustained a blow to your head 1 week back during an sports outing and you starting having headache after 1 week of injury. If you had sustained a concussion then your headache should have started soon after the injury, or within same day along with symptoms like vomiting, blurring of vision, dizziness. I feel your head ache is not associated with injury. I would suggest you can take some medication for the headache along with medication for vomiting, so that you feel better. If you headache still persists then it will be a better option to show a Doctor. There number of different causes for head ache, starting from the simple like starving, excess exercise, sinusitis to many serious causes. Thank you Hope your concern was dealt with, and you recover from your headache
