What Causes Headache And Painful Bump On Side Of Ear?
Hi, just recently notice and felt a bump on the left side of my ear and jawline.. Its like in front of my ear. When I touch it and push it a little its a little sore. Also felt like I was getting a headache... Should I be concerned?.. Go see my doctor?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain a bump in front of the ear can be a swollen preauricular lymph nodes and can be probably be due to ear infection or other infection in head and neck region.. As there is also an important structure in that location that is Parotid gland which is a major salivary gland and infection in the parotid gland can be a cause of bump.. Consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and an ultrasound or MRI of the salivary gland and lymph nodes can help in confirming the cause and treatment can be planned accordingly.. As of now do alternate warm and cold compresses over the bump and if there is pain take Tylenol..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
