What Causes Headache And Sensitivity To Light, Noise And Smell?
Why do I get headache which last for 2 days and no painkillers helps. Sometimes I get sick, sensitivity to light, noise and smells. And there is nothing I can do to stop them.. Most of the times I don t even feel stressed they just uppers and goes.. Very annoying and painful. I m eating healthy most of the time and going to gim couple of days a week. This started two years ago and doctor told me that that s stress..but when that started I remember that I was on the most relaxing holiday ever.

Do you have history of similar episodes in the past? Any family history of migraine or other head ache? Is the headache associated with nausea or vomiting?
Headache with intolerance to light, sound and smell is typically seen in migraine or vascular headache. Although stress can precipitate an attack, it is not necessary to be preceded by a trigger, and there are other triggers as well - like sleep loss, change in diet, excess caffeinated drinks or alcohol.
After ruling out other causes with detailed history and examination(especially BP and fundus examination), I used to give ibuprofen+paracetamol thrice daily for 3- 5 days, along with domperidone. Your doctor will guide you.
Meanwhile drink enough fluids, and take a nap in a dark and quiet room after taking analgesic- usually pain will abort. Rarely patients with sever pain needs intravenous analgesic and sedation. Your doctor will guide you.
