Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Headache And Stomach Discomfort In A Patient With Severe COPD?
I have severe COPD (stage 4) but the last few days I have been light headed, headache, queasy in the stomach which I have been taking 2 to 4 hr naps along with normal sleep. Not a normal for me. Have blood tests on Fri and see my DR on Wed. Should I wait to go in?
I am concerned that carbon dioxide levels in your blood are higher than normal. This could be causing the drowsiness, light headedness and headache. I would suggest you have a doctor see you / get oxygen and CO2 levels checked sooner rather than later.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pranav Balakrishnan, General & Family Physician
