What Causes Headache And Swollen Face While On Prednisone?
Hi, my doctor just put me on Prednisone and I m having a slight headache, my face is flushed and a bit puffy. Is this a steroid reaction? I ask this because I have had steroid injections for my back and the same symptoms accured. Can I take something to make it stop?
If you had similar reaction in the past toot then it is due to Prednisolone only and you should keep in mind that next time you need a steroid better tell your doctor about your reaction to Predniosolone. It is important because in progressive exposure to the same allergen the reaction can continue to be more and more severe. I would suggest you to consult your Physician and get evaluated, as he can change the steroid drug with other substitute and can also get a blood test done to see if the condition improves. Also you should do cool compresses over the face and drink plenty of water to wean of the effect faster. Also you should take sufficient rest, bit get checked soon and do not continue the medicine till your doctor reassures you or change your medicine.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
