Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My son being 21 years old with autism started having a headache last Sunday followed with cough and fever. I took him to his doctor on Monday who was not sure what the problem could have been. Suspected some type of respitary infection and prescribed Cefprozil. I took him back to his Dr 3 days later since he was getting worse. He recommended a chest X ray and showed water on his right Lung. I was told by the nurse that he has pneumonia and to continue with the anti biotic. He is not getting any better . He coughs continuously without any mucus discharge and throughs up after each meal. He was able to tell me that he went to public pool 3 days before he started the fever. I checked the web and I suspect RWI. PLEASE ADVISE
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, if this is the cough condition more than week and some lesion or effusion seen in lung then it is the matter of concern as long as the differentia diagnosis is concern other etiology need to be taken under consideration and mycobacterium could be the cause and to rule this out sputum AFB is must with some other test, better to see the pulmonologist hope this information helps.
