What Causes Headache In The Bottom Back Of Head?

Hi there. I have had a headache in the bottom back of my head (mostly the back right side) for 5 days. The back right of my head also hurts very badly when I swallow, but my throat isn t sore? I can hardly stand the pain anymore. What is going on? Thank you for your time.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the pain involving right side of nape of neck (that is meant by bottom back of head) can be part of cervical nerve compression related issue most likely. In my clinic, I do recommend thorough physical examination followed by X-ray of the cervical spine to find out the basic condition underlying as:
@ Spondylosis,
@ Facets over joints,
@ Disc space narrowing or
@ Foramina compression

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
