What Causes Headache On The Left Side Of The Head?
My brother has hyperthyroidism, is apparently well managed and is compliant to daily medication. He just started having a pressure headache on the left side of his head and now is a subtle nausea headache. Is there any possible links to the hyperthyroidism that could be causing this?
Hyperthyroidism is known to be associated with and to cause migraineheadaches but typically this is when things are not well controlled. If he is as you say (well controlled) then it should be less likely that the current headache is linked, however, perhaps this is a sign that he is NOT as well controlled as previously thought.
Your brother may be well to be tested for an ENTIRE PANEL of thyroid hormones to include TSH, FT4, TOTAL T3 and FREE T3 to see if any of those are out of line to begin with before testing other causes for his headache.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
