What Causes Headache, Persistent Fever, Severe Stomach Pain And Vomiting?

My son started with a bad headache on a Friday. Later in the day he got a fever of about 102. He threw up once during the night. Yesterday his fever persisted, despite Tylenol and cold compresses. Today his fever was down and he began complaining of severe stomach pain. While trying to poop, he began vomiting. It has happened twice. Should we go to the ER?

I understand your concern

Fever,headache,abdominal pain,vomiting can be due to enteric fever/viral hepatitis/leptospirosis.

If I were your treating doctor,I would recommend,
-You need to visit paediatrician/physician for physical examination and blood work out.
Investigations like blood haemogram,widal test for typhoid,liver function tests are necessary.
Accordingly,antibiotics course will be started for 7 to 10 days.
-Antipyretic analgesic combination like paracetamol plus ibuprofen /aclofenac 3-4 times a day for headache and fever.
-Antiemetic like domperidone twice for vomiting.
-Adequate intake of water.Oral rehydration solution preferred.
-Soft semi solid light home made fresh food should be given like thick soups,porridge.Small frequent meals will help in better digestion.
